John, a class A member of the PGA of America, has been a golf instructor since May of 2000. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, John played collegiate golf at the University of Alabama from 1994-1999. John captained the Crimson Tide his junior year and was named to the Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll his junior and senior years. 

John moved to Scottsdale, AZ upon graduation and played full time as a professional. He has one Pepsi Tour victory and finished second (5) times on the Arizona Professional Tour and the Southwest Professional Tour. 

In May of 2000, John went to work for Resort Golf Schools and in three years moved from master instructor to Senior Master Instructor and Director of Golf Schools at Legend Trail Golf Club, Scottsdale AZ.

In May of 2003 John went to work for ESPN Golf Schools and taught seasonally at TPC Scottsdale and Centennial Golf Club, Carmel NY. 

In January of 2007, John went to work for PGA TOUR Experiences as the Head Instructor of the TOUR Academy at TPC Scottsdale. John currently oversees 4 full time instructors and has become one of the areas most sought after teachers.

John has learned under some of the games best instructors including Scott Sackett,( Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher), Jim Flick(Hall of Fame instructor), and Hank Haney (Golf Digest top 10 instructor). John has worked with some of the best amateurs in the state of Arizona. He has also worked with professionals on the PGA TOUR, LPGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and the Futures Tour.

John has written instructional content that has been featured in many publications including espn.com, pgatour.com, golfchannel.com, PGA Tour partners magazine, Golf Tips Magazine, the Scottsdale Republic, the Arizona Golfer and Jet Set magazine. He has written and starred in over 20 golf tips that have appeared on pgatour.com, espn.com and golftips.com and was just recently awarded with being a Golf Tips “top 25” instructor.

John has international teaching experience as well. John is one of only a handful of teachers selected to coach the CIMB Junior Development Program in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and the Chang development program in Thailand. 

John has been featured on the TODAY SHOW with Lester Holt and Campbell Brown, as well as Good Morning Arizona with Brad Perry. 

John’s extensive knowledge of the game, coupled with his easy going personality makes the learning process stress free and easy to enjoy.

• Help you develop a game plan that will lead to more confidence on the golf course. This game plan will focus on the specific areas of improvement whether it’s full swing, short game or on-course instruction. Whether it’s adding more distance to your drives, improving accuracy of approach shots or saving shots around the greens – we can help.
• Use the latest and greatest in golf technology. These tools will enhance the learning environment and provide all of the necessary data to improve anyone’s game. When combining the world of visual learning with the appropriate auditory and feel, each educational experience will be maximized.
• Teach you the ball flight laws so you will be able to recognize your own swing flaws as they occur and make the necessary corrections. An individualized practice routine will be established so you can focus on how you can improve your swing fundamentals after returning home.
• Enhance your short game feel by teaching you the time-tested mechanics that will allow you to master putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play as well as some specialty short game shots which, together, represent the majority of the game's shots and the fastest route to lowering your scores.
• Help you develop a pre-shot routine that establishes a solid foundation for consistent and accurate execution on every type of shot you will face on the course. A solid pre-shot routine will help the transition from the practice facility to the golf course.
• Help you blend the improvements of your swing technique with the proper club-fitting. Blending the instruction and the club-fitting together will allow for any player to be custom fitted for long-term progression.
